Introduction and effective date

This Cookie Policy explains how IHT Services, operating the USA OPS website and related pages (the "Site"), uses cookies and similar technologies.

This Cookie Policy applies to cookies and related technologies used on the Site, including the calculator flow, contact forms, and related pages.

This version is effective as of the date listed above.

What cookies and similar technologies are

Cookies are small text files placed on your browser or device when you visit a website.

Websites and service providers may also use similar technologies such as local storage, pixels, tags, scripts, and server-side identifiers to operate a site, remember settings, measure usage, protect against abuse, or support embedded content.

In this Cookie Policy, we use "cookies" as a shorthand for cookies and similar technologies unless the context requires otherwise.

The cookies we use, by category

We aim to keep cookie use limited and proportionate to what is needed to operate, secure, and deliver the Site.

Strictly necessary / functional

Strictly necessary cookies help the Site load, stay secure, route traffic, and support core functionality.

Because the Site is hosted on Cloudflare infrastructure, certain operational or security cookies may be set by Cloudflare when specific protections or features are enabled. Cloudflare says its cookies are used to manage traffic, maximize network resources, and protect customer sites from malicious traffic, and it describes the listed cookies as strictly necessary unless otherwise stated.

Examples documented by Cloudflare include:

  • __cf_bm for bot-management functions where Bot Management or Bot Fight Mode is enabled,
  • cf_clearance for JavaScript detections or challenge state where those protections are enabled,
  • __cflb for load-balancer session affinity where that feature is enabled,
  • _cfuvid for certain rate-limiting configurations where that option is enabled.

Not every Cloudflare cookie described in Cloudflare documentation is necessarily active on this Site at all times. Actual cookies depend on the production configuration in use.

Performance / analytics

As of this draft, no separate analytics or audience-measurement vendor has been identified for the Site from the information provided by the owner.

If performance or analytics tools are later added, this section and the cookie table below should be updated to identify the provider, purpose, and retention period.

Functional / preference

The Site may use limited functional storage or preference-related technologies if needed to remember user choices such as cookie preferences or basic interface settings.

As of this draft, no separate preference-storage vendor has been confirmed from a live browser scan.

Targeting / advertising

We do not use cookies for cross-context behavioral advertising or targeted advertising.

We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are commonly used for cross-context behavioral advertising.

If advertising or targeting technologies are added in the future, this Cookie Policy and the privacy-choice mechanisms on the Site will be updated before or at the time those technologies are used.

The cookie table

The table below must be finalized from a real browser-based cookie scan of the deployed production build. This draft does not invent cookies that have not been confirmed on the live site.

Cookie nameProviderCategoryPurposeDuration
__cf_bmHosting / security providerStrictly necessaryBot-management and automated-traffic protection, if enabledUp to 30 minutes of inactivity, according to Cloudflare documentation
cf_clearanceHosting / security providerStrictly necessaryStores challenge or JavaScript-detection clearance state, if enabledVaries by configuration; confirm in live scan and deployment settings
__cflbHosting / security providerStrictly necessarySession affinity for load balancing, if enabledSeveral seconds up to 24 hours, depending on configuration
_cfuvidHosting / security providerStrictly necessaryDistinguishes visitors sharing an IP address for certain rate-limiting rules, if enabledConfirm in live scan / deployment settings
__cfseqHosting / security providerStrictly necessarySequence tracking for Cloudflare rules, if enabledConfirm in live scan / deployment settings

Before publishing: replace or remove any row that is not actually observed on the deployed site, and add any confirmed first-party or third-party cookies found in the live scan.

Third-party cookies and embeds

The Site may include or rely on third-party functionality such as:

  • the embedded calculator application,
  • click-to-play third-party video segments,
  • hosting and security infrastructure,
  • and any future analytics or preference tools.

Third-party content or embeds may set cookies or similar technologies only when loaded or activated, depending on how the Site is configured.

For hosted video content, the Site should continue using the privacy-enhanced, click-to-play approach already specified for the build so that nothing is loaded from the video provider until the user clicks to play.

If a separate licensed provider, document platform, or future embedded service is introduced in a way that can place cookies through the Site, this Cookie Policy should be updated to describe that provider by role and explain the relevant cookie behavior.

How we use cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies for limited purposes such as:

  • operating the Site,
  • securing the Site,
  • managing traffic and performance,
  • supporting calculator or form functionality,
  • remembering user choices related to privacy or site operation,
  • and troubleshooting, diagnostics, or abuse prevention.

These purposes are intended to align with the uses of personal information described in the Privacy Policy.

Your choices and how to manage cookies

If the Site uses a consent banner or preference center, you can use that tool to manage any non-essential cookies made available through the Site.

You can also control cookies through your browser settings, including by deleting existing cookies, blocking future cookies, or adjusting site-specific permissions.

Please note that blocking strictly necessary cookies may affect the availability, security, or functionality of parts of the Site.

If non-essential cookies are not currently in use, the Site may use a simpler cookie notice rather than a full preference center until a broader consent tool becomes necessary.

Global Privacy Control and Do Not Sell or Share

If we receive a recognized Global Privacy Control ("GPC") signal from your browser, we will treat that signal as a request to opt out of any activity that would require a "Do Not Sell or Share" choice under applicable law.

California states that a user-enabled GPC signal is a valid method for communicating an opt-out request that covered businesses must honor.

You can also review the dedicated opt-out mechanism at /do-not-sell and the related privacy-rights language in /privacy.

Changes to this Cookie Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time.

When we do, we will post the revised version on this page and update the "Last Updated" date above.

If a change is material, we may provide additional notice on the Site where appropriate.

Contact

For questions about cookies or privacy choices, please use the contact form at /contact.

For opt-out requests or related privacy requests, please use the dedicated mechanism at /do-not-sell.

We do not publish a general public email address for these requests.
